Closing Out by alltelleringet
Closing Out
An idea I've carried with me for quite a long time that I finally decided to bring to life. The models in this photo were my sisters wonderful sheeps; Tore, Birgit and Ull-Rik. It was shot outdoor a cold early morning in October. I would love to hear what you think about it, what is the first thing that comes to your mind when you see it?!

Don't look back by alltelleringet
Don't look back
I've been working on this since September. It was quite a lot more work than I expected. The model was photographed in sunset on a dirt road in Sweden right as the sun was coming down. I then photographed dirt being tipped from a loader, so there are a great amount of different layers of dirt and dust put together to create the falling ground. Now I've been working on this way to long, I might do some more adjustments to it but just wanted to hear your thoughts about it as well!

What do you think, technically and idea wise? What is the first thing that comes to your mind?

My name is Erik Johansson, I'm a professional photographer and retoucher from Sweden living in Berlin, Germany. Deviant art is a great place for inspiration and here I share my personal work. Thanks for commenting on my work, it keeps me realizing new ideas. I try to realize personal ideas as often as I can. I photograph everything myself, I never use stock images, that is the big challenge for me to capture all the material myself. The inspiration is everywhere. I hope my gallery can inspire you as well!

Hey Erik,
Love your work. You are a great inspiration. Do you have any tutorials on how you do your work besides speed painting?

Hi Erik!

First of all, even if it is quite redundant seeing the other comments you have here, your work is really amazing man, keep up the good work!
If you have 5 minutes to send me a PM, i would really appreciate if you could tell me, or give me a tip how could i make that rainy effect you did in the Drifting Away photo, more precilesy that moment when you spray some water on that glass with the black background. How can i eliminate the black to have that awesome effect of wet lenses ?

Thank you and i look forward to recieving your reply, of course if you can give away that kind of detail.
Paul.

glad you like it, it's always best to capture the effect for real instead of trying to fake it. I shot water on a empty frame glas with a light in the background and then basically applied that layer on the image with blending mode screen. you can see me doing that in the last part of the behind the scenes movie I did about it here youtu.be/DHVroXo_K50

Hi ErikJohansson

Your photomanipulations seem so seamless, how did you achieve that? This is something I've always been striving for (I mean so seamless even when you zoomed in.. the small details.. and a lot of your works have been printed out in super large size in real life, saw your vids! theyre awesome). Rage Maybe I need a bigger monitor? (currently only using a 14" laptop)..

hi, sure a bigger monitor helps.. but it's really about a lot of time and patience too. I spend months working on just 1 single image to make it as good as possible. I would recommend to get at least a 22 inch monitor
