Angry ants by alltelleringet Angry ants by alltelleringet
The forest gives and takes, although it's rare sometimes chanterelles against humans.

I came up with the idea more than 2 years ago but didn't find the location until my last visit to Sweden a coupple of weeks ago. The shooting and retouch was fairly quick compared to my previous projects. A soft light from right to make the trees and ant hill more 3-dimensional. Most ants were painted in by hand. (No ants were harmed in the process of making this photo) Have a look at the close up here: [link]

This is pretty awesome! ^^ I love seeing photography like this and it is sadly rare to see these on dA. I love how you did this. It is very original and one of the coolest things I've seen today!

If I had to criticize you on this at all, it would be on the effects of the picture. I think more could have been done with the tree "grabbing" onto her. I understand if you don't have an awesome program like Adobe After Effects, I can't afford that, either. xD Another thing that kind of throws the picture off is her facial expression. I wouldn't be smiling if a tree was trying to eat me! xD

Overall, though, a very nice job! ^^ Keep it up!

WELL done!.

I love the idea. As usual you deliver. Great imagination, and talent.

Would have been wicked if you painted some ants on her arms! Like showing them really pulling her into the ant "hill" Just a thought. That ant hill looks superb. Really like it.

"No ants were harmed in the making" hahahahahahaa

The ONLY thing I would have to criticize on one thing it would be the fact that the model seems to be "laughing" rather than being scared. Maybe it's just me though.

Anyway, GREAT piece. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Keep it up! :)

Regards,
Julian

I like thid Idea too! Convincing composition! This ants have to be very strong to pull the girl into their anthill. The dumped chanterelles gives the certain kick to the artwork....great!

Scary! A horrible way to die.

The way that woman is embedded in the
anthill seems a bit false. In fact ants shred his victims and transport them in pieces to their nest.
If the anthill look like a crater, I think it would be more believable visually.

Great job ! I like how the simple addition of the yellow mushrooms/flowers? adds a nice pop of contrasting colour to the whole image. I especially commend the dug up ground haha :)

Jag gillar din idé; den kommer att ha mig flinandes länge idag. Det får en att undra vilka fler idéer som kan komma ur det här. Blåbärens hämnd kanske?

It's a bit puzzling at first glance as I didn't quite understand the concept until reading the description. I do like the concept presented here, but the perspective and lighting seems to really distract from the image. The action taking place doesn't really grab the attention within the photo where perhaps a more ground level angle might have.

haha, yeah, ... not posting here much anymore because it's just a waste of time, BUT, yes, NYC is the Capital of Opportunity in America ((that will be probably one of the Chapters in my Book I'll write, . . . someday soon))

This is the third year coming to NY in the Summer mnths, back to S FL 4 the Winters. Making needed contacts/business / ArtBiz contacts to still be a starving Artist for yet another year (35+going strong) but, it ain't gettin' any easier these days AND in THIS Economy.

In under two months it will be more TELLING on what's to come of our America as we know it, if We Still have an America :twocents:

nice to hear from ya my Man! :highfive:

The concept is amazing, though scary! haha! I feel the color/hues are really good - the compliments of orange with the green look great - though the wardrobe of the gatherer is a bit bland. maybe a red pattern on the shirt would have been more striking - and more ominous(?) / symbolic(?). I also think the ants being the villains here is a bit less than your potential for the dramatic and unreal. had the tree been grabbing her by her legs with it's roots, or the mushroom's roots been sucking her down as if plucking her from the ground, that would have been awesome. A lot more work, for sure! O.o

But over all I think this is magnificent. The ants are awesome, and spot on. Her expression is great. The location is perfect. Well done!:clap::w00t:
