The forest gives and takes, although it's rare sometimes chanterelles against humans.
I came up with the idea more than 2 years ago but didn't find the location until my last visit to Sweden a coupple of weeks ago. The shooting and retouch was fairly quick compared to my previous projects. A soft light from right to make the trees and ant hill more 3-dimensional. Most ants were painted in by hand. (No ants were harmed in the process of making this photo) Have a look at the close up here: [link]
What do you think? Composition, color, idea, realization, improvements, good and bad? Any thoughts or comments are welcome! What comes to your mind when you see it?
I love the idea. As usual you deliver. Great imagination, and talent.
Would have been wicked if you painted some ants on her arms! Like showing them really pulling her into the ant "hill" Just a thought. That ant hill looks superb. Really like it.
"No ants were harmed in the making" hahahahahahaa
The ONLY thing I would have to criticize on one thing it would be the fact that the model seems to be "laughing" rather than being scared. Maybe it's just me though.
Anyway, GREAT piece. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing. Keep it up!
This is pretty awesome! ^^ I love seeing photography like this and it is sadly rare to see these on dA. I love how you did this. It is very original and one of the coolest things I've seen today!
If I had to criticize you on this at all, it would be on the effects of the picture. I think more could have been done with the tree "grabbing" onto her. I understand if you don't have an awesome program like Adobe After Effects, I can't afford that, either. xD Another thing that kind of throws the picture off is her facial expression. I wouldn't be smiling if a tree was trying to eat me! xD
I like thid Idea too! Convincing composition! This ants have to be very strong to pull the girl into their anthill. The dumped chanterelles gives the certain kick to the artwork....great!
well done! One day i want to be like you Are you self learnt? or went to some school? Here in India, most of the schools suck..they hardly know anything i just have rely on tutorials, speed arts etc
The way that woman is embedded in the anthill seems a bit false. In fact ants shred his victims and transport them in pieces to their nest. If the anthill look like a crater, I think it would be more believable visually.
Great job ! I like how the simple addition of the yellow mushrooms/flowers? adds a nice pop of contrasting colour to the whole image. I especially commend the dug up ground haha

Overall, though, a very nice job! ^^ Keep it up!
