Cut and Fold by alltelleringet Cut and Fold by alltelleringet
I figured that the dotted line on a road and the dotted line in magazines (where you're suppose to cut something out) could be combined. I shot it in June 2012, but I've just been working with it for a few weeks. I've been staring myself blind on it now and would appreciate your comments! Room for improvements? Good/Bad?

What comes to your mind when you see it? What's the story behind?

i think it looks great on this otherwhise plain fields.
the little details like the roots of the tree, the side of the cut and the scissor-sign on the road are just brilliant used.
the shadows are good placed and lok real.
i rated a bit less in impact because it has such a good technique that it looks as if it is normal if you just haste through the pages.

as the person named davidbrinnen already mentioned the shadows are a bit too dark but that is not too bad.

I like the small details on the road like the trees roots and the dirt under the road. But like some one has already said, the shadow on the right and left folds are too dark. Lighten those and i think it would be better if the image had been a bit bigger. You could have also added some road signs or electrical lines.

For the people who dont know how to do this, maybe you could do a tutorial on it because i'm pretty sure we would all like to know how to do this!

Overall, i think it is an amazing concept. I think if there was a moral or lesson to the picture, it would have been a little better. Maybe like this: [link] or [link]

Your video shows INCREDIBLY much work that you put into this image. I am impressed. It looks damn cool.
But there is something I miss, not about execution, but about the message. I think that there seldomly is a clear moral stance in your creations or anything to think about. I mean: I think it is cool, but for me it looks rather like a practice of photoshop techniques than a work of art. But don't get me wrong: That is not to criticise this image!

Bigbadwuluf saw something "awkward" about the left flap but neglected to elaborate. And the referenced "falling debris" appears more like artifacts or a few distant birds.  It seems to me that an artist as technically proficient as Alltelleringet could easily have included plausible falling debris if he had chosen to;  obviously he chose a cleaner look, and it obviously works.

The Swoofus critique goes way off on a tangent when speculating about an approaching storm and whether nearby farmhouses will be affected, or whether other fields may peel, too.  This is a solid piece of work that shouldn't suffer from irrelevancies brought forth by an over-thinking critique.

wow i really  like it...for me it means that the easiest way is not always the right way XD
(not very creative i know^^...it could also mean that sometimes when you want to take the easy way to get to you destination, fate intervenes so that you have to grow with the challenges and experiences on the rocky road...so that sometimes your destination changes inevitably^^)

One, where are the scissors cutting the road and how does the biker avoid them? Two, can I just mention how scary that would be to see ahead of you? All in all I think this was a very creative piece and I love the idea of it, even if I do feel a bit sorry for the biker.

That is so cool! I like how you added the little scissors sign on the street, where you're supposed to cut, you know? I wonder how many people noticed that it was there.

It's a very cool photo manipulation, something I was I could do, yet, I have no idea how to.

Anyways, keep up the awesome manipulated photos, I'll be there to look at them and smile :D
